Kevin Durant: From Annoyed to Maddened in the NBA

Comments Off on Kevin Durant: From Annoyed to Maddened in the NBA

A few years ago, OKC Kevin Durant was the least-critiqued, or most coddled if you will, supertalent in the league.

Remember local media there actually apologized for a story about him? He was the kinda-nice guy? Things really flipped. Fans and media eat him alive now. And he walks around ice grilling, cursing, and secretly trying to flame social media users.

“Mr Unreliable” comes from the title of a popular song back in the day, by a rock group named The Cryan Shames.

LYRICS>>

Mister Unreliable, there’s no need to worry ’bout the future,
You haven’t any friends,
It doesn’t matter now because you’re new here.
You’re gonna wake up some morning,
To find old friends are gone.
You’ll call out their names in warning,
But they’ll be too far along,
To hear you now, to hear you now…

Can’t you see, can’t you see,
You’re fallin’ behind, the world’s
Gonna catch your unreliable mind.

Durant won’t get back to being a favored kid from here. Not after the way his defection to Golden State has played out in the public eye. Not after his January 2019 rant in which he told lots of people to “grow up”… classic pot callin’ the kettle black.

There are certain sports figures who you either grow to like over time, and there’s a different group of athletes that includes dudes you liked at first but no longer do. KD was in that second class, for me.Â
