Chicago Bulls [3-0] at
Roanoke Railguns [1-2]

We decided to simulate this game, figuring that the action would be watchable. Most gamers have played such sports titles that allow us to see CPU v CPU. Sometimes it is entertaining and/or a teaching moment. Although I am aware that sitting back with a beverage and watching the computer play itself is seen as pathetic. Then again, the guys who think it’s pathetic are usually drunkard gambling addicts. So, take it with a grain of salt.

Anyway, wrong move—pressing SIMULATE WITH HOOPCAST means that we got a ‘shot chart’ kind of action. Similar
to watching a basketball game on ESPN or Fox websites… because we couldn’t watch the computer play itself as expected.

And, when we try to back out…

So be it… we stayed in, simulating dead ball to dead ball, or through the end of the quarter. The gamer can do lots of management type things here. But we wouldn’t recommend it. More trouble than it’s worth.

The game returned to the default twelve-minute quarters, although our Association is built on six-minute quarters. Maybe the CPU will let a Railguns player score 30? Unlikely. John Derry Stevens is a 92, highest rating on the team.

The game ended… Chicago wonafter making a second half comeback… but we didn’t notice the score. Because
the CPU messaged that our

starting rookie center, Tommy Heaton, suffered an MCL
injury that would put him out for the season.

Unacceptable.
We reset the PS3 so the progress wouldn’t be saved. Time to play the game as was meant…

Bulls [3-0] at
Railguns [1-2]

We turned down the foul sensitivity a lot—maybe to 10 from 50. This has made the game more enjoyable.
Because this game is difficult (!), and being able to pick the ball away evens things out a bit.

The Railgun led most of the way, by as much as ten points, but a Bulls press closed the gap. Some
clutch FTs by player of the game Joe Dumars ended things.

Final score: Railguns win, 64-61.
